There’s a new update on the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (“FFCRA”): the Secretary of Labor has finally released the model notice that all covered employers must disclose to their employees. Below are the links for the notices for private sector and federal workers:
- Employee Rights: Paid Sick Leave and Expanded Family and Medical Leave under The Families First Coronavirus Response Act
- Federal Employee Rights: Paid Sick Leave and Expanded Family and Medical Leave under The Families First Coronavirus Response Act
The DOL also published a helpful FAQ regarding these notices (found here).
The DOL has also clarified that the FFCRA takes effect on April 1, 2020 (not April 2 as it previously reported). The notice must be posted in the workplace. If your office is closed, the notice should be emailed or mailed to employees or posted on the company’s website.
We hope this provides some guidance during these confusing times. If we can be of any help, please do not hesitate to contact us.
As always, stay safe.
