Lani E. Medina

Lani is counsel at the firm and is a seasoned corporate transactional and M&A attorney with more than 15 years of experience advising clients across industries such as finance, healthcare, logistics, technology, and private equity. Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, minority investments, and corporate governance. She has counseled organizations ranging from early-stage startups and mission-driven nonprofits to Fortune 500 companies, providing practical and business-minded legal solutions tailored to each client’s needs, budgets, and risk tolerance.

Lani’s career reflects a unique combination of big law training, in-house counsel experience, and entrepreneurial leadership. Before joining Weinstein + Klein, she served as Senior Associate at Barton LLP, Senior Corporate Counsel at PetVet Care Centers, and founder of Lani Law PLLC, where she represented startups, small businesses, and nonprofits. She is also the visionary behind The Kind Deal Lawyer, a community initiative and podcast fostering collaboration and empowerment for entrepreneurs and legal professionals.

A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Bronx native, and first-generation Puerto Rican Latina, Lani’s military service, where she was honored as Information Manager Airman of the Year, instilled the discipline, integrity, and leadership that continue to define her practice. She is also passionate about the role of technology in law, particularly the use of artificial intelligence in contract drafting and corporate transactions, and champions ethical, values-driven approaches to both lawyering and business.

Deeply committed to giving back, Lani serves on the board of Youth Voices Center, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young leaders to create positive change.
